We are a gathering of sinners who have been redeemed by God's grace in Christ and transformed by God's Spirit. We are worshipping and serving God, enjoying fellowship one with another, and making known the great things God has done for us in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
----------
There is but one true and living God who created us and all things to show His greatness, glory, and majesty. We not only worship and serve God as our Creator, but also as our Redeemer who rescues us from our sin and transforms our whole being through His grace in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
God has given His Word, the Bible. We are a church because God tells us that we are to worship and serve Him as a gathering of His people. This great God has told us how to worship Him.
Our worship must have God (not us) as the focus. We need to know God. We need to hear what He says to us in the Bible. In particular, we need to know and believe the Gospel of the Grace of God in Christ. God, by His Spirit through Christ, is taking us from where He found us, to make us new. We need change, and God's Grace in Christ is mighty to change us as His Spirit continues to work in us .
Our worship and service must be what pleases God and He tells us in His Word the worship that pleases Him. This is the great difference between worship and entertainment. Because God is a Spirit, our worship must be in spirit and truth. Because God is gracious and good and wondrous, our worship must be marked by joy and delight in Him. Because God is sacred and holy, our worship must be marked by reverence.
Fellowship in a community of believers is an essential part of church life. The Bible urges that we encourage one another, teach one another, strengthen faith and resolve in one another to obedience to God. Indeed, Jesus stressed that this love for one another and fellowship in the body of believers is the way that we will be known as His disciples. Fellowship is rooted in our common love for God His truth, and His commands.
God has done great things for us in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Christ is our life and our all. Faith in the Gospel of God's grace in Christ is how we live and grow. We want others to know these great things God has done for us and that we have found that the greatest thing in this world is to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
